We Have A Winner The Globeandmail.com review (A Hogtown Hallelujah by J.D. Considine) is the best of the print reviews of Leonard Cohen’s Toronto’s concerts; at least it’s the best of those we’ve read - see
- The Toronto Sun’s cliche-fest
- The bland review from CTV
- The even blander review from The Canadian Press
- The just-another-apotheosis from The Star
It’s not perfect (it is hardly, for example, cliche-free and I’m pretty sure I recognize a couple of sentiments if not the precise wording from earlier pieces) but it is thoughtful, goes beyond the obvious, and even includes a politely offered criticism of the playlist. And it’s attached to a great photo of Cohen doffing the fedora. Way cool.
